Who We Are:
Our organization welcomes all Penn State graduate students involved in visual culture related coursework and interested in participating in an enriching interdisciplinary dialouge with other burgeoning artists and scholars from the Penn State graduate community.
We welcome and encourage the open exchange of ideas amongst our members. In this spirit, our group regularly conducts practice presentation sessions for members wishing to deliver their scholarly and/or artistic presentations in a non-threatening, peer-populated environment. Participants in these sessions can expect to receive encouragement and supportive critical feedback on their work.

GSAVC member, Kim Ivancovich, presented her paper, "The Power of Sight: Photojournalism in the Algerian War" at Central Connecticut State University's international, interdisciplinary conference, The Language of Images, March 29-30, 2007. click here
Several of our members represented Penn State University and the GSAVC at the College Art Association (CAA) conference, February 14th-17th in New York.
